Objetives and Beneficiaries

Objectives

  • Employment and training. Labour integration of people with disabilities is the maximum priority of the ONCE Foundation. From the conviction that the best way to achieve the normalisation of disabled people is by means of their labour insertion, the ONCE Foundation allocates 70% of its budget to its plan for labour insertion and employment training.
  • Accessibility. Universal accessibility is, after labour insertion and employment training, the second priority in the ONCE Foundation’s actions. The programmes to eliminate barriers and promote accessibility, carried out with the support of the ONCE Foundation, are directed, fundamentally, to four areas:

    • Elimination of architectural barrier
    • Promotion of communication for deaf people, in their family, working environments etc.
    • Elimination of psychosocial barriers
    • Accessibility of the information society

Beneficiaries

Potential beneficiaries of the Foundation’s aids are:
  • Entities with Spanish nationality, with corporate legal status which, in accordance with their articles of association, develop an activity which coincides with that carried out by the ONCE Foundation. Particularly considered within this group are non-profit entities that work with the interest groups of people with disabilities, that is to say, associations, federations, foundations and confederations in the different areas of geographical action.
  • Any physical person with Spanish nationality affected by any type of disability. To this effect it will be essential for said person to hold the corresponding certificate of disability issued by the relevant Public Administration.

The protective action of the ONCE Foundation may be extended, with prior agreement from the relevant bodies in each case, to individuals or corporations of a different nationality other than Spanish, in which the aforementioned established requisites concur.
